A police officer was jumped by two assailants in his house. The attack was thought to be a crime of homophobia. The assailants forced the man to open his safe which contained his gun and other belongings. After they attempted to handcuff him, but he suspected he would suffer, so he jumped out of his window. The impact severely damaged his spine and head. He walked to the hospital nearby, but died from his injuries.
